Steve McNair Bio

Steve McNair was born Steve LaTreal McNair on February 14, 1973 and he was an American Football Player who was a starting Pro Bowl quarterback for the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens.

With McNair at the helm, the Tennessee Titans went to the playoffs 4 times and won the AFC Championship in 1999 to play in Super Bowl XXXIV.

McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, and was All-Pro and Co-MVP in 2003 with fellow quarterback Peyton Manning.

High School

As a freshman McNair went to Mount Olive High School in Mississippi., where he was a multi sport star. He excelled in baseball, football, basketball, and track. As a junior, Steve McNair led his high school to the state championship. What most people don’t know is he also played free safety at Mount Olive were he got 30 career interceptions which tied a state record. His performance and leadership garnered him an All-State selection as well as being named on the All-American Team by Super Prep magazine.

Did we mention that he was also good at baseball? The Seattle Mariners drafted him in the 35th round of the 1991 MLB amateur draft.

College

McNair nicknamed “Air McNair” played college football for the Alcorn State Braves. He stood out among the players in Division I-AA, and his senior year he won the Walter Payton Award. That same year he even finished 3rd in votes for the Heisman Trophy. During his four years he broke a bunch of records that still hold true today.

Sadly, we lost Steve on July 4, 2009. He was found dead along with a woman, Sahel Kazemi. We would prefer not to comment on the circumstances yet as the facts are still coming out.
